It may be a bit of a long time ago now - but good things come to those who wait! We've uncovered a lost review of Mark Vessey's 'Be Out' exhibition at The Box Bar...
Tonight The Box Bar was packed with people from everywhere... a warm, relaxed environment with everyone there to support and admire Mark's work. Turning up for the private view were some of London's prestigious bookstores like Oggi from Soho Books through to porn actors like Mukhtar Safarov and Ashley Rider, and plenty of friends and family too!
Photographer Mark Vessey unveiled his photographic exploration, 'When I’m Out' at London’s Box Bar and Gallery. It is Mark Vessey’s first Solo exhibition and his debut success of ‘When I’m Out’ is a vibrant collection of images revealing his exploration of discovery and fascination with gay nightscapes... from Barcelona, Berlin, Cape Town, New York and London.
This show is the continuation of a successful past twelve months for Mark, who has seen his work exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art as part of their summer exhibition - a profile that led to work being sold to an executive at Sony/BMG. The enthusiasm and talent of this
young photographer are in no doubt as are the eclectic mix of work that he has produced that ranges from fashion editorial to modern interpretations.
In addition to his own work, Mark works extensively with gay lifestyle magazine reFRESH on fashion collaborations and has recently been contracted by Random House publishers.
This exhibition promised to be another notch in the rapidly accelerating career of this exciting young photographer!
