Pride London 2008 : The Parade...
review Stormy, wet weather? What stormy wet weather!? The only umbrellas we needed today were to keep the sun off... loved it! Was my first time in a parade such as this. What a blast! I was one of the Roman Gladiators parading down the streets with our "rickshaw" made over to look like a Roman Chariot, all of us had full Roman Gladiator costume on, helmets that weighed a ton but we kept on going. I felt so proud and was so proud to be gay and happy that finally we marched in celebration and NOT in protest or anger! A big change in this county's attitude, but we need to work harder around the country and the rest of the world, Eastern Europe is where we need to be more visible and also we need to combat the religious right that gains popularity the more the world makes barriers, so Pride brings down borders and barriers. I look forward very much to being in the march of 2009! SO I thank everyone who came, all who marched!
