What better way can there be to spend a balmy summer evening than with a picnic amongst friends, Lulu and her band on stage a few metres in front of you, and the sun setting behind the iconic Kew greenhouse as a backdrop?

Tonight's concert was part of the Summer Swing festival at Kew - a "Party for the Planet" with information playing on the big screens about some of things that Kew is getting on with to help preserve the planet. It's evidently much more than a just pretty garden!

So we threw down our rug, cracked open the Champagne (well, okay, so it was sparkling wine - but no-one was looking so I think we got away with it) and tucked in to our picnic as Lulu belted out huge hits like "Relight My Fire" and "Shout" to everyone's delight. Lulu is still cool!

An amazing evening to remember, ending in a fabulous fireworks display as the last song played... we drifted towards the gates and back to our homes with smiles on our faces.
